Memorial Day weekend is widely known as unoffiical start of summer, so many of you will be starting to plan summer vacations and might be bringing your pets along.
Joining us Sunday morning on Good Morning Connecticut, Dana Humphrey, also known as “the pet Lady” shares some great tips when it comes to traveling with your pets.
News 8’s Brian Spyros sits down with Humphrey and an adoptable French bulldog named Leia. You can watch the full interview by clicking on the video above.
According to Humphrey, these are 6 ways to make summer pet travel much more enjoyable:
1. Identification:
Twigo tags are as easy as 1, 2, 3! Write, boil, wear! Proper ID is ultra important when traveling.2. Flea free is always a must! Leave the bugs behind and make sure your pet is on a flea control system, even in winter. Aunt Fran will never let you live down the time your dog infested her home with fleas.
3. Find a Trusted pet care provider! Doggy BnB helps you get pet care from friends and your favorite pet sitters with the push of a button.
4. Buddy system! Don’t travel alone with your dog, especially on road trips and of course you need to bark buckle up.
5. Keep them safe! Use a puppy bumper to prevent them from squeezing through baby gates or new fences at the hotel or family house.
6. Healthy treats! Treat rewards with some made in the USA jerky.
